Post-16 students from ÂìÒϸ£Àûµ¼º½ Academy Hemsworth recently returned from an enriching two-week work experience in Malta, made possible by the UK government's Turing Scheme

A group of 28 students from ÂìÒϸ£Àûµ¼º½ Academy Danum have returned from a week-long ski trip to the stunning Pila ski resort in the Aosta Valley, Italy.

Pupils from schools across Wakefield District are being given the opportunity to step into the shoes of a police detective as part of an initiative aimed at reducing knife crime. The Junior Detectives programme involves 16 pupils from ÂìÒϸ£Àûµ¼º½ Grange Academy, ÂìÒϸ£Àûµ¼º½ Academy Hemsworth, Ossett Academy and Horbury Academy.

The Robograngers team has won an award at the FIRST Tech Challenge UK competition. The team consists of 11 students from ÂìÒϸ£Àûµ¼º½ Grange Academy, from Years 9 to 11. 

Year 5 students across all 13 ÂìÒϸ£Àûµ¼º½ primary schools participated in their annual News Day. The event allows pupils to experience the world of work and encourages them to aspire high for their futures. 

Speak Up students from ÂìÒϸ£Àûµ¼º½ Academy Freeston are currently preparing to share their brilliant performance 'Empatheatre' with the Freeston Foundation and staff!

ÂìÒϸ£Àûµ¼º½ Grange Academy hosted its first-ever iftar dinner for more than 160 members of the community, to celebrate and acknowledge students and their families fasting during the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.
